Lieke Nooijen and Jakob Söderqvist win prologue

For a long time, it looked like the men’s prologue at the Eneco Tour would produce a Dutch winner, but in the end, Jakob Söderqvist was one-hundredth of a second faster than 23-year-old Wessel Mouris.
The margin was clearer in the women’s race; with a time of 3 minutes 51 seconds, Lieke Nooijen was more than 8 seconds faster than Charlotte Kool.
Charlotte Kool spent a long time in the hot seat, watching several male counterparts pass through. After all, the event featured a world-first format where men and women rode in alternating blocks, meaning two hot seats were on display at the Sportcampus Zuiderpark in The Hague.
