Eneco returns to cycling
Starting this year, the Tour of Holland will continue under the name Eneco Tour. After a ten-year hiatus, Eneco is once again the title sponsor of an international professional cycling race. What makes this special is that the Eneco Tour will be organized for both men and women at the same time, as the Simac Ladies Tour is being integrated into the Eneco Tour. The Eneco Tour will take place from October 13 through 18, 2026.
Eneco and TIG Sports & Events have entered into a three-year agreement, with an option to extend to five years. In doing so, both parties are underscoring not only their ambition but also their commitment to a sustainable, long-term partnership. Simac and NIBC, the former title sponsors of the Simac Ladies Tour and the NIBC Tour of Holland, will remain involved in the upcoming edition.
The Eneco Tour is not a traditional stage race, but an innovative and compactly organized event that showcases the Netherlands’ strength as a cycling nation on the international stage. It combines multiple stages across different provinces, with a strong focus on fan engagement, sustainability, and inclusivity. This creates a modern and appealing sports platform: accessible, visible, and forward-looking.
The Eneco Tour marks the next step in the connection between Eneco, sports, and society. Cycling, deeply rooted in Dutch culture and daily life, offers a natural platform for (brand) engagement and aligns well with Eneco’s values. In this context, the Eneco Tour will become even more sustainable in the coming years, and there are also plans to let customers experience the Tour, for example through clinics and recreational rides.
Selina Thurer, Chief Customer Officer and member of Eneco’s Executive Board, says:
“We are thrilled to be back as a sponsor of cycling. The Eneco Tour and cycling in general fit seamlessly with our mission “sustainable energy for everyone.” We are very excited to make the Eneco Tour “a sustainable event for everyone.” The partnership with TIG Sports offers us a wealth of attractive commercial and social opportunities to further strengthen the Eneco brand.”
Roxane Knetemann, race director of the Eneco Tour:
“The fact that a partner like Eneco, with such a rich history in sports, is joining us right now speaks volumes. Eneco recognizes and acknowledges that the future of cycling lies in how we reorganize this sport: sustainably and inclusively. With full-fledged men’s and women’s races throughout the Netherlands, we are building a platform that is relevant not only in terms of sports but also socially. That instills confidence and energy for the long term.”
